TOSCA, Newbridge, Co Kildare

Tosca is long recognised as one of THE leading Designer Swap Shops in the Country.

Open ten years now, it has long been recognised as  the go to store for all the leading designer labels with  women from all over the country flocking to the Newbridge based store  to pick up prized pieces at wonderfully affordable prices.

Stylish and sassy women love the thrill of finding a  classic Chanel bag,  elegant Manthu dress, divine  Prada shoes or a timeless  Hermes scarf , all at a fraction of the original eye watering prices!. Items are consigned on a daily basis , all either brand new or once worn and nothing, other than vintage, is older than two years old.

Tosca has featured on RTE’S Nationwide, The Mooney Show, TV3 as well as all the leading national glossies and broadsheets. In a nationwide customer pool conducted by the Irish Times last year, Tosca topped the shortlist of the Best Shops in Ireland.

Owner, Sarah McEllistrim says that big race days are the perfect opportunities to put on the style..

“Style is the operative word…Unlike fashion, style is eternal and one of the prerequisites of good style is appropriate. Remember it’s the races , not the debs..so NO maxis, no heavy fake tans and no teetering  around in heels more suited  for the dance floor than a racetrack. No flimsy chiffon dresses…. Defiantly not for the races. The spaghetti  strapped little guna with the towering heels look is all wrong and just looks ridiculous  Black and white is timeless, so is camel and beige. Remember Punchestown is National Hunt so dress accordingly. For Winter, who can beat fur.  And though it’s Spring, officially l!!, Punchestown can be one of the coldest places on earth, so remember that when choosing your ensemble  Hats are stunning, but not for everyone.

My tips would be mix it up, no top to toe label co ordination, nothing too tight/too loose . If you’re blessed with perfect pins  ,great; if not, cover them up! Dress for your strengths.

Best tip of all……… shop at Tosca!
